New Family Cemetery

We got a hit on Ancestry last night that there are some WEAVER relations buried in the Croneis Lutheran/McCaron Farm/Hersh Cemetery on Tucker Road out by Possum Run Road. We went out right away of course to check it out after consulting the RGS site. Well, let me just say that I am ashamed to be human once again. The stones were beyond broken. They were smashed into hand sized pieces, there were not even a handful of stones still standing, there were disembowled animals strewn across the once churchyard. I have NEVER seen such a sickening sight. There is obviously a lot of drinking and what not going on out there. You'd think in a "quiet, conservative Rural" area like Clear Fork School district things would be left alone but I guess not. The parents out there should be ashamed of what those kids are up to at night.

Another great day at OGS Conference today!

Two very interesting seminars about german points of origin and new englander migration to ohio respectively. Got application for Richland County Lineage society for AK. I should have it in by July if things go as planned. Had a fun time and got two cool new stickers for the van. My personal favorite saying: CAUTION! I break for cemeteries! AK would say that was only too true- He knows I can't resist a good cemetery. Tons to think about and lots of good info to put to use.

Day 1 OF OGS Conference

Today was the first day of OGS conference. I had one session on applying to lineage societies. It was a super fun lecture and I had a great time. There was a huge hall with all the societies from across the state, a door prize raffle, a goody bag and so far the only downer has been the nasty pink first time attender ribbon on my name badge. Tomorrow is a full day of sessions and I'll let you all know how it goes.
